How do i stop my sims 2 game from crashing without uninstalling the game?

I asked a question a while ago about my game crashing because of custom content but all the answers told me to uninstall my game but i dont want to lose everything is there a way to fix this without losing everything?How do i stop my sims 2 game from crashing without uninstalling the game?You do NOT have to uninstall your game. But seriously, uninstall the programs you don't use/have no idea why they're there... to free up some space. Also, you can always re-install your game without losing all your saved games information. In my documents there is a folder called eagames, just save that folder somewhere else on your computer before you re-install. After new install copy the eagames folder right into the new one which is also called eagames in my documents also. When you start up the game you need to disable the custom content.
