Older dogs do have more of a doggy odor than younger dogs. I would also check his ears. If he has ear mites, the odor might be coming from his ears. He might also have a skin disease, like mange, which smells bad. All of these reasons can be found out by cutting his hair very, very close. Good Luck! Can anyone help with a natural remedy for a smelly toy poodle?
Check whether his ears or mouth are the source of the smell. If so, deal with those problems. Also groom him well---get rid of hair mats and see whether there is anything wrong with the skin.
Aside from mouth, ears, and rear end, poodles generally smell like whatever they have come in contact with.
Small poodles are youthful and long-lived, they do act younger than their age. I had one live to 21 years.
I haven't tried this with a dog, but I find that rubbing with fresh rosemary is great for removing human odors, such as under-arm odor. Can anyone help with a natural remedy for a smelly toy poodle?have a vet examine the dog and see what he recommends.... I suspect the dog is older than what they said.... there are some people who give away their older pet because of costly health treatments or they can't deal with it's "accidents" in the house... older ones tend to smell and so does their urine. Can anyone help with a natural remedy for a smelly toy poodle?
Okay here goes go to walmart and get the doggy shampoo that smells like baby powder it smells very good and also makes the dog smell good . good luck and god bless and happy holidays.
i got a toy poodle too, i give him a bath with ivory soap and then baby shampoo, then i put conditioner as if it was my own hair.i give him a bath once a month in winter because it is too cold, spite of his sweater, he is an indoors dog, he goes out for his dogie duties. your doggy probably has digestive problems and that is why he smells, change his diet for a more gentle diet ask your vet about a gentle diet, they have different diets at the vet's clinic
