What is the best format to get Star Wars in on DVD?

I would go blu-ray, but apparently that wont be happening for a long time. From what I understand, the newer trilogy only comes in one format, but the older trilogy ive heard very mixed feelings about, were there are some definate issues- eg. they utilize non-original special effects, picture quality, bonus features. I'm not sure on the specifics, but apparently this is a big deal to star wars fans....so if you know what im talking about, tell me what the best isWhat is the best format to get Star Wars in on DVD?this 2-disc set:

The 2004 releases were the DVD versions that added more stuff to the 1997 SE releases. What is the best format to get Star Wars in on DVD?and if you don't and get the 2004 releases you'll be very disappointed. In truth there are no issues with the newer versions in respect to the "panoramic" stand point. The newer ones only amp up the sound %26amp; picture %26amp; add or extend certain scenes from the originals.
