How hard is it to be a game designer, how many programming languages should you know?

I've always wondered how online games work and how long it took to create them.

I would like to make my own game, but just had those questions above ^

How hard would that be and what would I need to know?How hard is it to be a game designer, how many programming languages should you know?If you simply want to make a web game you should either Java or ActionScript which is used with Adobe Flash CS5. If you want to make full games for consoles you should have full development team with people who know what their doing.
