Why are there so many undeserving Yankees on the All Star roster?

Doesn't this say a lot about how foolish the all star voting has become?Why are there so many undeserving Yankees on the All Star roster?New York, by population alone, can possibly out vote the rest of the country in a situation like this. It does say a lot about the system and how irresponsible it is. As a Yankee fan it's nice to have decent representation but when you know in your heart certain players don't deserve to be there, it takes something away from the honor.



Add to that the world series home field determination and we've got an even bigger problem. Somehow this has to be fixed.Why are there so many undeserving Yankees on the All Star roster?
granderson's average is down a bit, but he's 3rd in the league in HRs and definitely up there in RBIs. cano and a-rod have the numbers, and (i'm a yankee fan admitting this) our shortstop is there because his first name is derek and his last name is jeter. there are shortstops who are more deserving of it this year no doubt. as for tex and CC, tex's average is well below what it should be but he hits bombs, and CC is leading the league in wins, nbd. whether it's little league all stars or MLB all stars, it's a popularity contestWhy are there so many undeserving Yankees on the All Star roster?So many? Jeter was my idol growing up and I can definitely say he doesn't deserve to be an all-star. But Cano, A-Rod, and Russel Martin all deserve it. Maybe Alex Avila deserves it more, but Martin is still a good player.



Also players like CC and Tex didn't make it, when they easily could have with the numbers they've had so far. Also, David Roberson got robbed of an all-star appearance. He deserved it.
Well I guess if not enough people voted for other players then what can you say.

Apparently the Yankees have about a trillion fans while every other team has a piddling

There's 1 undeserving Yankee on the AS team and that's Jeter. Sabathia and Tex got screwed. So stop complaining.
Seeing as NYC is the most populated city in America and has the largest market in North America, it really isn't that surprising.Why are there so many undeserving Yankees on the All Star roster?
Jeter go the popularity vote, I'll give you that, but the rest of the Yankees on the roster earned their spots.
Because they're a winning, high market, large fan based, traditional franchise. It's really only because they play in New York City and they're a high markey popular team.
@Embarrased Cubs fan- Russell Martin is also undeserving.
Because they have the biggest fan base in the MLB.



The only Yankee who doesn't really deserve to be on the team is Jeter.
Yeah, I'm pretty sure some fans vote for only their favorite teams players. The only players from the Rangers I voted for are Hamilton, Young, and Beltre.
Because their fan base is absolutely huge, if any other team had that fan base, the ASG would be filled with them instead.
