What are people trying to achieve by giving abundantly a star to almost every question they answer?

I see that a lot of people, in almost every question they care to reply to, they also give a star. Doing that, are they condoning the question for its igeniuty or is it a good way to collect points? Or is it politics? As we say in my country "we are good with the policeman, but also with the gendarme".In other words be good with the asker to get the B.A. 10 points? What are people trying to achieve by giving abundantly a star to almost every question they answer?I couldn't agree more with you.

I wouldn't go into interpreting other people's motifs, but personally I think it's meant to mark a Q of exceptional interest to the poster. My ratio so far is 18/600+ answers, meaning I've used them sparingly, but that's how I understand the whole idea of stars.

Another reason I use it, is to draw the attention of my contacts to it.

Similarly, I don't feel obliged to answer all of my contacts' Q, nor do I expect them to do so for me.What are people trying to achieve by giving abundantly a star to almost every question they answer?Perhaps they try to focus attention to themselves!
