Considering the wearing of Yellow Stars, symbolizes that the jews during the Holocaust of World War 2, they were made to to wear those yellow star. Many students around school are wearing them and I and feel as if they shuold be taken off considering it can and has offended me and many others who know of the jewish extensive and horrific past. What do you think? They have the right to freedom of expression and association. This means that they can year a yellow star, or even a NAZI swastika and there's absolutely nothing that you can do about it.

But I need to ask, why are the students wearing them now? Is it in reference to Judaism or is it just some Hollywood thing?

There is the legend of King Cristian X of Denmark wearing a yellow badge, and other Danes taking it up to prevent the Nazis from identifying Jews. Turns out it's not true, but if it were, it wouldn't have been offensive. The story does illustrate, though, that motive is important.

So is it Jewish kids wearing the stars in order to detoxify the symbol?

Even if it is some skinhead revival, I have to come down on the side of free speech. At least, instead of identifying victims, it would now be identifying evil intent.
