Does any Star Trek cover the relation between the name for Vulcans and the Roman god?

I've been doing some random searches of the name Vulcan, and discovered a Roman god I'd yet to study. Obviously, there is the name similarity, but are there any others? Does any of the Star Trek shows (Enterprise, Next Generation, etc) acknowledge this (these) similarities?Does any Star Trek cover the relation between the name for Vulcans and the Roman god?Not really, but there was an episode of Voyager in which a Leonardo Da Vinci program was talking to Tuvok. Da Vinci remarked "I am as dry as Vulcan." Tuvok surprisingly said "Vulcan?" and Da Vinci replied "Yes. A small island of the coast of Tuscani. Have you been there?"

The names "Vulcan" and "Kronos" where used for planets in Star Trek because those were proposed names for planets in our own solar system.Does any Star Trek cover the relation between the name for Vulcans and the Roman god?by the way the thing spook does with his hand is suppose to be th e jewish name for God.Does any Star Trek cover the relation between the name for Vulcans and the Roman god?No, i'm afraid not.Does any Star Trek cover the relation between the name for Vulcans and the Roman god?
From the Original Series episode "Amok Time", when Spock was compelled to return to Vulcan to mate with his betrothed, there was a discussion about the oppressive heat and a reference to "no wonder we named it Vulcan". I assume they were alluding to the Human name given to the planet by the first Earth visitors who were referring to the Roman god of fire.
