How do you set up a Kenmore energy star air conditioner?

Well i just bought a Kenmore energy star air conditioner a few weeks ago and i lost the directions and i don't know how to set it up (it makes a sound like if its throwing out something but air doesnt come out) and if any of you guys knew and are willing to tell me i really appreciate it!How do you set up a Kenmore energy star air conditioner?my first guess is that you didn't remove all the Styrofoam packing that you were supposed to. there really is nothing special that anybody has to do to SET UP a window air conditioner.

go on-line to see if you can download the manuel or if you have to call sears with the make and model number and for about $5.00 they'll send you a new booklet.

once the air conditioner is in the window the first thing you must make sure of is that it's SLANTED DOWNWARD ON THE OUTSIDE so the moisture will run outside not into the room. i believe a half a bubble on a level is the correct level of the air conditioner.

plug it in. make sure there is no smoke door open (there is a small lever that lets a door open to let smoke out of the room while the conditioner is running. however it also takes the cooled air out with it.

if you have one you should be able to see it by looking through the vents that the AIR comes out of. it would be on the sidewall of the conditioner. set the thermostat, turn the switch on to fan for a few seconds, then turn the knob to COOL, HIGH SPEED and see what happens. i still think you might have left something inside that needs to come out.
