Should fan voting for the all-star game be eliminated completely or at least changed?

If you like to see a change, please state what you like to see to make sure true players make the all-star team based on merit and not on favortism.Should fan voting for the all-star game be eliminated completely or at least changed?It should be based upon the same criteria that the sportswriters vote on for Hall of Fame consideration. Stats and overall performance, not favorite underachieving team players, and not how cute the player is or how popular he is with the fans.



The fans ruin the All Star Voting with their own criteria that has nothing to do with performance and leave the true All Stars out in the cold and planning vacation time when the All Star Game rolls around. That leaves about 1/2 real performers and 1/2 players that don't even belong in their company.....Should fan voting for the all-star game be eliminated completely or at least changed?
i agree with you. i think it should be 1/3 fans, 1/3 players and coaches, and 1/3 baseball experts such as announcers and the people that vote for the hall of fame. i still think the fans should get some say in it.Should fan voting for the all-star game be eliminated completely or at least changed?the fans should get less say in the voting than they do now. i dont think fans' votes should count for much if any at all because theyre all biased. i mean david ortiz is the starting DH when he hasnt played that much. soriano hasnt played for a month and he is starting in the OF and i could name half a dozen guys worthy of starting over fukudome. just let the players and managers do the choosing.Should fan voting for the all-star game be eliminated completely or at least changed?the fans pick the stater the players chosoe there guys reseves i beleive

Yeah, I think that the game should just be an exhibition. No world series home field advantage tagged to it. If that's the case, then the system could remain how it is because it's just for the fans, so what's wrong with a popularity contest there? I personally think that, after they get rid of the home field advantage rule, they should select the true all-stars based off of numbers, players votes, coaches votes, and so on. Then let the fans choose who starts out of those all-stars that are already named.
