What does a celebrity need to do, to earn a "star" on the Hollywood walk of fame?

Im surprised some celebrities have got a star. It seems a little too easy and I fear people like Jennifer Aniston may soon get one. What is the criteria? What does a celebrity need to do, to earn a "star" on the Hollywood walk of fame?I'm not too sure, but I'm assuming it depends on how successful their career is, how big their starpower is, how long they've been around for, and how much they've done in their career.

And yeah, I hope Jennifer Aniston doesn't get one any time soon, too!

:3What does a celebrity need to do, to earn a "star" on the Hollywood walk of fame?Well, there are two answers. The official one and the realistic one.

The realistic answer is this: They have to be famous. That's about it. If you walk up to 10 people on the street, and read them the name of a performer, if 9 out of 10 people know who he is, chances are they could get a star. Of course, they have to be nominated first. But anyone can nominate someone for a star, so that's no problem. Being on the Walk of Fame more or less means that you've made it in Hollywood, that you're famous. (And Jennifer Aniston IS getting a star. Soon.)

As for the official qualifications, here they are:

- professional achievement

- longevity of five years or more

- contributions to the community and

- the guarantee that the celebrity will attend the dedication ceremony if selected.

Out of all the people nominated for a star, the Walk of Fame Committee selects approximately 12-15 names of the most qualified to get a star. They are then approved by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. Sometimes, a celeb must be nominated several times (in different years) before finally getting a star. (Sometimes they never do.)

They also have to agree to pay for the upkeep of the star %26amp; sidewalk, which runs around $30,000 (that amount is usually paid for by a studio associated with the star. It's petty cash for them, and they get free publicity from the ceremony in return.)

If a dead celebrity is to be nominated, there is a 5-year waiting period (after he dies) before he can be nominated. What does a celebrity need to do, to earn a "star" on the Hollywood walk of fame?I guess do something really important..What does a celebrity need to do, to earn a "star" on the Hollywood walk of fame?
I think Leonardo Dicaprio should get one!
