I have a Green brittle star in my tank with many other fish and corals and marine life and the brittle star has been suspected of eating a couple of the fish. i would like to possibly move him to another tank but i do not know how. Has anyone done this before? What is the best way to go about moving a Green Brittle Star from a 20 gal. tank to another one?First off I do not believe your brittle star was the culprit. since Brittle stars are mainly detrivores (detritus-eaters); they eat decaying matter and plankton. Some brittle stars can also kill small animals usually other inverts who cannot get out of the way or defend themselves. It is highly unlikely he did it. What else do you have in the tank?
To move him to another MATURE tank (and it must have been up and running for months) simply fill a cleaned flat tupperwear container with water, place your star in to it and float it in your new tank. Slowly add the new tank water to the bowl or container then release him.
If you need more help, please just email me.
