Me and a friend purchased the same game from Gamestop. I used trade in credits to buy the game and he used cash. Can I use his receipt to return my unopened game for cash? or does the receipt correlate to the specific serial number on each game box?Can I return a game to game stop with a different reciept?You should be able to return it. Video games, unless their PC and even then only if they're real expensive, usually don't have any serial numbers or other identifying marks that the guys at Game Stop can use to tell the copies apart.



I will say that this is sneaky and dishonest, and it's stunts like this that gets branches of stores to implement no returns policies, punishing everyone.
