Is star wars more action based while lord of the rings is more story based?

I just watched fellowship and new hope and my first impressions are that I think star wars is more action oriented while lord of the rings is more about story.Am I right or wrong? Is star wars more action based while lord of the rings is more story based? If you are talking strictly about the movies of each respective franchise, then I would agree with your observation. The reason for this is that all of the Star Wars films (The Prequel Trilogy included) were movies and were NOT based off of preexisting books. Each movie has been adapted into a novel version AFTER the movies were released.

Adversely the Lord of the Rings was a 3-volume set of one massive novel, this novel is generally considered one of the greatest fantasy epics of the modern era. Only after decades of avid readers falling in love with the story, was the Lord of the Rings adapted into 3 films named after the 3 volumes they were based on.

As a result of the Star Wars franchise having begun as feature length films, they are geared more towards action sequences and not quite as much story building, as such is the nature of film making because of the need to captivate an audience for a fixed amount of time.

Tolkien was very cerebral as an author and went into painstaking detail about almost every aspect of his world, and the history of his world. Part of the reason LOTR has the fan base it does is because of how tangible and almost-real Tolkien made his world and his characters seem. As a result the movies made based off of the LOTR attempted to pay homage to such detail and so they are more focused on the story building that is such a part of their fame.

However, both Lord of the Rings and Star Wars have a lot to offer both in story telling and action. Delving into the Expanded Universe novels of the Star Wars franchise would expose you to the rich story telling that has made the Star Wars galaxy the most developed fictional society in history.

Likewise Lord of the Rings has tons of action especially as you move deeper into the story and the War of the Ring commences. The battle for Helm's Deep in the Two Towers, and the Siege of Gondor in the Return of the King provide some of the most epic battles in the entire fantasy genre.

In the end the two franchises have a lot to offer fans and exploring each of them beyond just the movies is more than worth your time.Is star wars more action based while lord of the rings is more story based?
Comparing those two sections of the story, yes you are correct. However, the further you get into the LOTR movies, you'll find huge epic battles every time you turn around. Far more often than Star WarsIs star wars more action based while lord of the rings is more story based?Correct. And I agree with the last comment, two towers is definitely more action. And Return Of The King has the most action. Tolkein started his books to entertain his young children...so they are all more story based. :)Is star wars more action based while lord of the rings is more story based?
STAR WARS MOVIES HAVE LESS ACTION THAN THAT OF LOTR ....

BUT STORYWISE STAR WARS IS A LOT MORE RICH AND COMPLEX IF U FOLLOW THE NOVELS...Is star wars more action based while lord of the rings is more story based?ur right
